Steve Hester | Producer & Videographer
Steve has been in the film and video industry for more than 30 years. He trained in the United States Army and worked at the Army’s field weapons testing laboratory. He moved back to Michigan in 1986 and operated the City of Flint’s municipal television station. He also worked at Comcast as the Public Access Coordinator training city residents to produce television shows. While there he produced and directed high school sports, televised various community events and in his spare time produced, “Take No Prisoners” documenting the Flint music scene for 10 years. He then moved into Comcast advertising sales and began working with Andy Hill. In 2001, Steve and Andy opened Zoom Digital Media.
Andy Hill | Producer & Editor
After a couple of years studying art and photography at Western Michigan University, Andy decided to enter the work force for a while by hiring in at Comcast. At Comcast Andy was introduced to the world of video production through their public access studio where he met Steve Hester. Andy went on to become the company’s local Ad Sales Producer/Director. Like a duck takes to water, he found a career path as a natural talent in video editing and has never looked back. Starting with a basic linear tape to tape cuts only edit system with an old Amiga 500 computer for graphics, Andy worked through A/B tape editing, the Video Toaster and Immix Turbo Cube (his first non-linear system) before settling in with Avid. With more than 20 years experience, Andy and Steve have gone on to create numerous effective and award-winning commercial spots for clients including “Best of Show” Flint Addy Awards and several Telly Awards.
